Supernatural, I’m sure we all miss the Winchester brothers and their adventures Sam and Dean. As much as we miss those two in particular there are a ton of other characters in there that made the show so great one of them being the angel Castiel. Supernatural’s Castiel was simply a mood. It was always fun having him on screen. Today we are discussing five things you probably did not know about him.
HE’S KILLED A LOT OF ANTAGONISTS
Castiel as a character has killed a lot of the shows antagonists. Despite initially being an antagonist himself many of the shows baddies would end up dying by his hand. These include Raphael in season 6 and Bartholomew in season 9. He has also defeated the likes of Metatron and Pestilence who were all antagonists as well.
HE IS NOT A REAL ANGEL
Supernatural’s Castiel is not a real angel. He came about because the show creators needed a name for a new character and they googled the angel of Thursday. There is no angel of Thursday, there is however an angel of saturday Cassiel whose name Castiel may be a variant of.
HE WAS SUPPOSED TO DIE, TWICE
Supernatural’s Castiel was supposed to have bitten the dust on two occassions but writers decided against it for one reason. He is too popular. Though the writers had wanted to permanently kill him off his sheer popularity was enough incentive to keep him on. That’s amazing isn’t it, funny enough this only led to him becoming more popular as time went on.
SUPERNATURAL’S CASTIEL IS THE ONLY KNOWN SERAPH IN SUPERNATURAL
Funny enough before losing his grace Castiel was the only known Seraph in supernatural, though there have been other angels on the show the lot of them have been other angel types with Castiel maintaining his spot as the only known Seraph in the entirety of the show. Pretty cool huh, also unfortunate that he lost his powers.
HE HAS BEEN TO HEAVEN, HELL AND PURGATORY
Just like the resty of the team free will Supernatural’s Castiel has been to Heaven, Hell and Purgatory. Make of that what you will. It’s obvious he has been a pretty busy fellow with Dean being the only one to top him as he’s being to Avalon as well.
