I love Yuma Kuga. World trigger is one of my favorite anime. I still remember when I first started reading the manga, I could barely wait for the updates. With a colorful cast and cool concept it’s hard for anyone to not get enmeshed by it’s plot. That said Yuma is definitely a great part of the anime, his charm and sheer bad assery are always a pleasure to see. Today we will be discussing five things you did not know about world trigger’s Yuma Kuga.
HE DISLIKES BEEN CALLED SENPAI
It’s no secret Yuma is extremely strong and significantly older than he looks and behaves at times but he likes to stay informal. When Midorikawa calls him senpai Yuma insists he just refers to him as Yuma. That is ironic considering he orders the same Midorikawa to call Osamu senpai should he defeat him in battle.
HE SCARES PEOPLE WITH HIS EYES
Yuma is a deadly opponent and adversary, a fact typically camouflaged by his outgoing disposition, that said his deadly nature sometimes cuts through. He tends to scare people with his eyes especially in battle as demonstrated numerous times in the anime.
HE’S SUPER POPULAR BUT PROBABLY NOT AS POPULAR AS HE SHOULD BE
Yuma Kuga is an extremely popular character. In the first world trigger popularity poll he ranked second. That’s great, if he was not the main character. I feel as a main character anything beneath first place is a disappointment but that’s just me.
YUMA KUGA MEANS TO PLAY FOR REAL LEISURELY
Yuma is a combination of two words, “to play” and the word “real” or “genuine” while Kuga means leisure or sky making Yuma’s name to roughly translate to “to play for real leisurely”.
HE DOES NOT NEED TO SLEEP
Yuma’s entire body is made of pure trion meaning he does not need to sleep but he still does it out of habit sometimes, that said he could go indefinitely without a whiff of shuteye.
