Bleach’s aizen is without a doubt one of anime’s most well-known antagonists, first making his appearance in the early manga chapters of bleach, Aizen would shock characters with a sudden reveal that his earlier death had not only been staged but he was also not the man everyone thought he was. Today we’re getting to know him, here is everything you should know about Sosuke Aizen.
Aizen’s name means passion
I’m sure you didn’t know but Aizen’s name translates to amorous passion. It was actually the name of a Buddhist deity and the inspiration for his character might have come from him. Pretty cool right especially considering the fact his whole character is built on a lust for power.
He’s a gemini
I think this comes as no surprise considering Aizen’s character and what we know about geminis.Their versatility,curiousity and adaptability are well known and they practically scream Sosuke Aizen. Bleach’s Aizen was without a doubt a curious figure. He’d have to be to amass all the knowledge he has, he also has excellent communication skills which makes manifest in his leadership ability.
Aizen is a total nerd
Aizen is a total nerd if that isn’t apparent already. Much like Mayuri Kurotsuchi and Kisuke Urahara Aizen in bleach is a scientist first and foremost before anything else. As such he’s always on the hunt for new knowledge, his nose buried in books as he scours the tomes for hidden treasures.
He doesn’t need glasses
This one may not be obvious so let me get into it but Bleah’s author Tite Kubo actually confirmed that Aizen does not in fact need glasses. He wears them just so he would seem gentler than he actually is, we should have known given his classic sociopathic tendencies, but then again, it is what it is.
He’s a ladies man ….(was)
Prior to his turn to darkness Aizen was quite popular with the ladies as evidenced by the Shinigami women’s association publishing a photo collection featuring him titled the smile of the sun. Needless to say it was cancelled after his departure.
