Gohan, Gohan, Gohan. The first son of the Dragon ball verse. Over the years we have seen Gohan grow from a child into a formidable warrior. He’s been through so much since his birth, taking on the likes of the Ginyu force from a very young age all the way to Cell. He’s grown stronger and stronger even surpassing his father Goku, at one point but through it all has kept his heart pure. Here’s everything you need to know about him.
HE IS A TAURUS
Gohan was born May 18 making him a Taurus. That does come as a bit of a surprise given their stubborn nature but come to think of it Gohan can be a little stubborn when he sets his mind to something. He does share a lot of traits with them including his loyalty and straightforwardness. If you’re a Taurus, you and Gohan share a lot in common.
HE IS REALLY SMART
Gohan is one of the smartest characters in the Dragon Ball universe. Along with Bulma they make up the brains of the gang. It comes as no surprise that he’s a scholar. As such he has dedicated his life to learning much to the chagrin of most fans but that’s something we will discuss later on.
HE WAS NAMED AFTER GOKU’S ADOPTED FATHER
Gohan was named after Grandpa Gohan, Goku’s adopted father. It’s a nice touching thing is it not, but come to think of it I wonder whose idea that was, I would have initially imagined Goku but I get the nagging feeling that it might have been Chichi’s idea.
HE’S WASTING HIS POTENTIAL
Now to the thing everyone hates about Gohan. In early days it was shown he had immense potential even surpassing Goku at one point and defeating Cell, but as time has gone on he’s has buried his head in books instead. This has led to him being significantly weaker than he should be with Picollo himself complaining that he has been slacking off his training.
HE ONCE REPLACED GOKU AS DRAGON BALL’S MAIN CHARACTER
After Goku’s initial death in the manga Gohan virtually took over the show, getting to the cell games a lot was on him and throughout Goku’s demise Gohan kept the fort going. Akira had in fact wanted Gohan to succeed Goku but readership was dropping so he decided to bring Goku back. Unsurprisingly readership went back up again when he chose to do that.
